Trails Council

The Fallbrook Land Conservancy Trails Committee was formed to preserve and enhance the trails in our community.

Our Mission Statement:

  • To assist in the preservation and maintenance of existing public trails and paths that provide access to open space and to other paths and trails

  • To assist in the design and development of new trails and paths that provide public pedestrian, equestrian and bicycle access

  • To assist in the development and formation of maintenance systems for public trails

Our History:

The FLC Trails Committee was formed early in 1999 as a sub-committee of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy to address the issue of trails for walking and horseback riding  in the area.  Hiking and riding trails give us access to the natural world.  They keep us in touch with the vital forces and rhythms of a connected environment. Trails make us happier.  Trails make us healthier.  They make our total environment safer and more secure.

Our efforts are currently focused on access to and maintenance of public trails in the Santa Margarita basin area.

The Trails committee would like to participate with planning groups.   We think it is important to enhance Fallbrook's rural atmosphere and open space areas with a network of trails that connects the urban, rural and natural environments of our community.  Also, we welcome opportunities to work with property owners to acquire easements for public access to the Santa Margarita River trails and other open space areas.
